preparing to be the best that it can be!  :)

anyone who tells you not to play with your food is not having enough fun!  :)

there aren't many vegetables i can't identify, but i had nooooooooo idea what amaranth greens (and purples) looked like!  :)

one of our favorite pre-dinner snacks: sliced tomatoes with sprinkling of cracked salt :)  you can also drizzle them with olive oil and chopped basil....

European Holiday!!  :)

since i didn't cook for three weeks i thought i would share some of our favorite foods and beverages from afar!  :)

we flew british airways and were served tea or coffee after meals (and wine with! ;)

a cheese plate that could have filled us both twice over!  restaurant near museum island in berlin

starfruit!  and it was ripe :)

an irish pub in berlin had a Kilkenny Chocolate.......hot white chocolate with irish cream!  best.  thing.  ever.

some kind of potato dumplings, our first meal in prague, czech republic

mulled wine...on a cold day atop about eight flights of stairs looking out over old towne prague

a traditional czech dessert, cooked rotisserie style.  bug liked it!  :)

our first meal in munich, at a huge traditional bavarian restaurant.  they served beer :)

perhaps the most wonderful meal surprise of our trip.  a small hole in the wall place advertising "indian fast food" outside, served us anything but fast food!  it was cooked absolutely fresh on stoves behind the register and was tear inducing-ly good :)

full and happy :)

chocolate banana crepes for breakfast.....spoiled rotten i tell ya!  :)

we visited the neuschwanstein castle near the small town of horn, germany, and this was the one restaurant we could find :)  this "neptune salad" kind of blew my mind (look at those yolks!  :)

our room was the only one with a view of BOTH castles on the hillside.  it was an absolute necessity to have cappuccinos on the balcony before checking out (too cloudy for morning castles :)

breakfast at a bakery in salzburg, austria :)

there are a collection of amazing cafe coffee houses in vienna, where we splurged a few times for espresso drinks that look like THIS :)

one of my best meals of the trip, this was gnocchi in a brown butter sauce with rocket and tomatoes.....i shamelessly asked our waiter for a spoon!  :)

at the train station leaving vienna, we had coffee and sandwiches while watching fresh bread be rolled and baked on the other side of the glass.  at the train station....

budapest budapest budapest.....we cannot say enough good things about budapest, hungary!  we had meals there that would have cost a million dollars anywhere else, including desserts such as this chestnut puree.....it looks a little funny, i know, but melts in your mouth.  oh my goodness.....
